The Anatomy of Human Destructiveness

The deep need of man not to feel lost and lonely in the world had, of course, been previously satisfied by the concept of a God who had created this world and was concerned with each and every creature… But for many of those for whom God was dethroned, the need for a godlike figure did not disappear. Some proclaimed a new god, Evolution, and worshipped Darwin as his prophet.
Quoted from the book The Anatomy of Human Destructiveness by Erich Fromm

I’m reminded the “God Gene”…

Story of God, The

In 2004, geneticist Dean Hamer claim to have identified what he has called the god gene. Also known as VMAT2. Dean’s research revealed around half the population carry a version of the gene which he suggests … highten capacity for religious or spritual feelings. According to Dean, our capacity to know God is geneticly determined.

The God Gene: How Faith Is Hardwired into Our Genes

Everybody has the so called God Gene, everybody has VMAT2. It’s just different people have slightly different versions of the gene. It works that about half a people have a version of the gene that’s associated with being some what more spritual and about half a people have a version that associated with being less spiritual.

Dean Hamer - GeneticistOur study suggest that the genes are important for sprituality, our genes are involved in consciousness and by consciousness I simply mean sort of our sense who we are, where we are in the world around us. Very spritual people often have expriences with they loose the normal consciousness. Jesus was wondering about the desert, Mohammad when on his flights, Buddha sat in the tree for years and years to meditating. That’s all about loosing normal consciousness, suddenly the world fades away, you’re not yourself, you feel connected to everything else, that’s well a function of consciousness, that’s what we think that the gene of sprituality are influencing.

[…] So finding a God Gene tells us absolutely nothing about if there is a God or is not a God. It simply says that we have a mechanism in brain for reckognizing this idea.

Possibly intelligent and highly advanced creatures landed on earth and modified the human genes…

Isis was the wisest: she was cleverer than a million men, her knowledge was greater than that of a million of the noble dead.
Quoted from Egyptian Myths

The appearance of men as it were on the globe according to this theology (Neo-Assyrian cuneiform tablet telling the Epic of Creation) was to serve the gods. There’s no lovely romantic story about how women created out of a rib, anything like that. Man is there, possibly a system, man’s job really I think to provide valet services for the gods, especially food.
