Now and Here…

Please see my previous post. You’ll see the reason of this post. Using Wordpress Rich Text Editor (Tiny MCE) is a nightmare especially if you need to format your post. I put a line break between two lines, click publish button and then my line break (br) disappears. My post looks disgusting.

There’s an ongoing discussion on this topic at Wordpress website. It looks like there’s no solution.

Somebody suggests using another rich text editor, FCKeditor. There’s a Wordpress plugin for integrating FCKeditor into Wordpress but It didn’t run on my server. Feel free to try on your server. It has magnificent comments on the plugin’s website. Then…

I checked my another option: Blogging directly from my computer desktop. I’m a mac user. I picked “Ecto” from a short list, and now, writing inside Ecto. I’ll see how it works soon. I have questions:

• Is there a way to copy any URL into clipboard by right clicking links? Or better, right click and choose “Trackback This URL” from the contextual menu?
• As far as I can see, I cannot create new categories inside Ecto. This is a big problem. I need to create one or more categories with my every new post. So I have to go my blog’s Admin pages, create new categories and link them to my new post using Wordpress Rich Text Editor.

Ok, I have some little problems using Ecto’s interface and still trying to grab logic of using the tool.

UPDATE:

Now I’m writing in Wordpress’ default Rich Text Editor. Ecto is not for me but I keep trying in the next a few days. First problem is the time. My desktop computer’s time and the server’s time is not same. I have edited two posts inside Ecto, published in edit mode and their order has changed at server. Older one became new, other one became older.
